Sophomore Class
Aim

  • practice typing
  • present biography powerpoint to class
  • take effective notes on all presentations-be prepared for test on bios

Classwork

  • practice your typing
    • go to this website on typing
    • practice lessons #6-you will be graded
  • take handwritten notes on biography presentation (you will be graded on how well you listen)
  • effective presentations
    • Basic Guidelines About Your Delivery

      1. try to accomplish eye contact with each person for a few seconds
      2. Look up from your materials
      3. Speak a little bit louder and a little bit slower than you normally would do with a friend.
      4. Vary the volume and rate of your speech.
      5. Keep your hands relatively still.
If you finish early, assign yourself by:
Senior Class
Daily Journal (remember to use complete sentences)
Describe the best Saturday school class you have ever attended at KIPP; think about all the Saturday school classes you have ever attended.

  • note: print all daily journals today; put in basket on Mr. Dino's desk
  • journals must be 12 point font, Times New Roman and no italic

Aim

  • please log off all machines!
  • don't look at others work on macbooks
  • stay on task-remember: it's a privilege to use these Macs
  • work on your iWeb

Classwork
    • your iWeb needs this as of today:
      • Welcome page: your name plus a photo plus a welcome message (be appropriate)
      • About Me page: write/tell us about you! think of interests, hobbies, passions, subjects, music, food; make sure words and pictures are appropriate
      • Subject Pages:
        • create a page for each of our subjects (math, science, lit media, etc.)
        • include information learned in class
        • describe the skills learned in class
        • describe any neat projects you completed
        • include appropriate graphics related to the subject
      • all template text (fake text) must be deleted and replaced with your own text
      • run spellcheck!
